    Rappel du premier message :

On a group of beautiful deserted islands in the middle of nowhere, the following people are stranded:

two Italian men and one Italian woman
two French men and one French woman
two German men and one German woman
two Greek men and one Greek woman
two English men and one English woman
two Bulgarian men and one Bulgarian woman
two Japanese men and one Japanese woman
two Chinese men and one Chinese woman
two American men and one American woman
two Irish men and one Irish woman.

One month later on these absolutely stunning deserted islands in the middle of nowhere, the following things have occurred:

One Italian man killed the other Italian man for the Italian woman..

The two French men and the French woman are living happily together in a menage-a-trois.

The two German men have a strict weekly schedule of alternating visits with the German woman.

The two Greek men are sleeping with each other and the Greek woman is cleaning and cooking for them.

The two English men are waiting for someone to introduce them to the English woman.

The two Bulgarian men took one long look at the endless ocean and another long look at the Bulgarian woman and started swimming.

The two Japanese have faxed Tokyo and are awaiting instructions.

The two Chinese men have set up a pharmacy, liquor, store, restaurant, laundry, and have gotten the woman pregnant in order to supply employees for their store.

The two American men are contemplating the virtues of suicide, because the American woman keeps on complaining about her body, the true nature of feminism, how she can do everything they can do, the necessity of fulfillment, the equal division of household chores, how sand and palm trees make her look fat, how her last boyfriend respected her opinion and treated her nicer than they do, and how her relationship with her mother is improving, and how at least the taxes are low and it isn't raining..

The two Irish men divided the island into North and South and set up a distillery. They do not remember if sex is in the picture because it gets sort of foggy after the first few litres of coconut whiskey. But they're satisfied because at least the English aren't having any fun.

Hey you know what I mean young lady! All am trying to say that men being the creatures they are, a woman cannot be banging heads with her husband all the time, that is all... Of course it goes without saying that the same holds true the other way around as well, the husband must know to listen and honor his wife's wishes, that is what the best of men do! But when push comes to shove, a real woman is one who knows to back down... Why? because 20 years later after all her friends have gone through at least one divorce and she looks at her family unit, kids gown up and happy she will be able to say "damn!! I work hard for this!" with a satisfied and proud smile on her face... It is not weakness, it is understanding what makes a marriage work and accepting to play one's part in it! Again before you go cutting neck off Laughing lemme be clear: This does NOT mean that she should stand for any kind of abuse, verbal or physical! Rather knowing that disputes WILL happen, she should master the art of diffusing to prevent them from escalating by backing down sometimes! A man will only love more for it, it needs not be a competition! that's all I am saying Ben Voilà

At least we can both agree on what u just said... but again it goes in both ways... if each of us acts for the best interest of his/her spouse we can have best mariage ever, but instead we keep fighting each other and argue about nothing! My point is, how can a couple be strong and face the world together if we have to fight each other night and day before?
I know that sometimes I live in my loveland but PLEASE dont' wake me up...

Sleep on honeysugarpie! Grithia Nah but seriously we talk the same language! Our premise is the same, which for me is a good man dealing with a not so easy wife, and similarly (I guessing here)your are speaking from the perspective of a good woman dealing with a problematic husband! You see, so we do say the same thing, we just approach it from opposite angles... which incidently may just be the cause of many misunderstandings in a couple! As the saying goes "one must learn to put oneself in the other person's shoes" to better understand him/her. respect

Not, honey, you're right, the only problem is that we (women) see the world under a perspective different from that of the men. When will we all be able to see the things of the same way? In order that it happens, we (men&women) would have to put in the place of the other one, as Saabachou says. But I'm afraid that while the world is the world, the things will continue being like that, it's the eternal war of sexes... ouf! Bloody Shakespeare's language

I do not celebrate Christmas but to all those who do I want wish a very Merry Christmas and happy holiday season! As the new year approches now is the time to reflect on the past year, identify improvements that need to be made in both our personal and professional lives, and get ready to put the plans in action as we formulate our new year's resolutions!

Well said Ben Voilà! So have you thought about what your goals will be for next year?
As far as your comment above, no women do not have to back down all the time at all, when you have a point and you are able to make it convingly then why back down. Similarly if your man has a point and is able to make it understood clearly there should not be any reason for arguments. But wanting your point to prevail no matter what and getting aggravated when iti doesn't is only recipe for disputes. That said, the point I was trying to make is that when the conversation reaches a boiling point, a woman should give the man his due as head of the household, if that is what you believe in as a muslim woman. Because for the man, there is a thin line between being understanding and appearing weak! Men do not NOT like appearing weak in front of their woman, I mean shit, WOMEN themselves do not like weak men

Just because the debat reach a heated point women have to back down even if they right Faux Faux Reconize that you wrong when you wrong don't make any man less than a man especialy when it come to your other half.Apologizing is not a sign of weakness, but most men don't get it and the sad part is by the time the ready to do it's too late.If men get over themself life in a relationship will be much more easier

One year closer to 2012, here is my prediction: 2011 is going to be a very difficult year to navigate: the weather pattern will be more unpredictable and crazy, the economies of the west will tested further leading to more social upheaval, some fake "terror" event is going to be cooked up by the usual suspects and this time they'll blame it on Iran to set it up for an attack, food and gas (fuel prices will go to the roof causing widespread misery in the third world...
I know it sounds ominous butn that is what all signs point to in my analysis... we'll talk about it again come Dec 2011 inshallah! Ben Voilà

well I've been thinking of quiting my job, I see how my hubby is struggling everyday so I can have anything I need/want/wish... and I have this voice telling me that the least he deserve is to find a warm house, a loving wife and a hot meal when he gets off work!
BUT STILL, I don't imagine layin on him for my every single need! I know I don't have to worry about him sayin Im a gold digger or so, but since my childhood I've learned to be independant and self-ruling...
Im thinking over and over but I am not even closed to find a solution...

Ideally I would prefer to have my wife stay home and manage the household. I find that it create a tighter bond for the family unit because one the one hand, the husband knows where wifey is at all times, the kids are properly cared for because the mother children bond is unique. I also imagine that she will feel a different sense of importance by knowing that she is personnally and physically taking care of her own family as opposed to simple contributing financially, and the husband also in this way will feel a stronger sense of partnership with his wife when he sees his family and household well cared for.
That said, this is a situation that does not work for everyone, for example if the husband does not earn enough to handle all the expenses of the household, he and his not working wife are more likely to have marital problems. Each will tend to blame the other for their frustations and divorce becomes an ever present threat.
So ultimately the financial health of the household determines whether a not working wife is a wise option. If the money is right, I find that it is the best family model in the world! Ben Voilà

We live in a brave new world mama, everything is possible as long as the persons involved have an understanding of why they are doing what they are doing and are in agreement. I see nothing wrong with a stay at home dad as long as each of the spouse's responsibilites are understood and met. That said, I imagine that it has to be a difficult decision for a man to make and an even tougher situation for him to live through especially if he has strong sense of dignity/self respect. However love, respect and feeling appreciated should make it easier for him to handle Ben Voilà

Clean dishes? héhé Is that the only you relate to being a house wife? How very western of you!Grithia It is a lot deeper than that mama, it is the pride of raising your kids and teaching life yourself, it is the pride of seeing your houseband walk through the door tired yet smiling of happiness because he knows that he has come home to love, comfort and a good meal! and evn more than that... Buut again it is all just a question of outlook, the way you see and understand yourself and your role in household and if you cannot see yourself finding pride and joy in fulfilling that role, then don't even attempt it, you will make yourself and your household miserable! Sorry Saaab I didnt reply this mornin, I was sleepy! I don't mean I'd feel like cleaning dishes, I said thats what my father would say!
First of all I've been raised in a family where there were no differences between boys and girls! we all had to work in the house on sundays, we were not like regular boys and girls familly! My dad always told my mom she had to work for herself! he was the kind of man to say: what would you do if I leave you tomorow? How would you survive by your self?
He tried very hard to help us be independant so I'd feel bad about putting aside all the things he teached me as a lil' girl

And so here we are again, another year down, shoved through the gaping portal of time, that bottomless pit, that endless expanse... another year... wiser? I am not so sure but... alive! Looking back at the year passed, many mistakes made, expectations unmet, dreams shattered... regrets? how could I? I own nothing but the choice I make next, the picture and path both belong to the Mighty One, the Decider! so no..no regrets but resolve that mistakes committed will not be committed again, that lessons learned will be applied moving forward in this life's journey... A blessing that I live. breathe, love, laugh and... give thanks and praise to Allah!! yes blessings that I have a family like mine, friends like my beloved sndiens héhé ..
